Windows Server 2019 User CALs (Remote Desktop Service)

A feature for Windows Server Standard and Datacenter versions, the Remote Desktop Service (RDS) CAL solution, can improve the performance of the remote workforce as well as productivity, allowing company information to be accessed and handled securely from any location and/or device.
RDS CAL
If your company uses Remote Desktop Services (RDS CAL), you need to purchase this type of license. This is because it allows users, equipment and devices to access a Host server located in the Remote Desktop Section. These licenses are administered and managed by the licensing server present on the remote desktop, today called RD Licensing.
User CALs (For Servers using Domain (Active Directory))
With the user CAL, you buy a CAL for each user who accesses the server to use services such as file storage or printing, regardless of the number of devices they use for this access.
Purchasing a user CAL will make more sense if your company’s employees need roaming access to the corporate network through the use of multiple devices or unknown devices, or if you simply have more devices than users in your organization.
This license allows installation on only 1 (one) Windows Server 2019 workstation (Server).
Check whether your Windows Server is Standard 2019 or Datacenter 2019 before purchasing.
If you don’t use Active Directory (AD) and use a WORKGROUP on your network, the correct license is per DEVICE.
If you already have CAL RDS volume OPEN (VLSC) licensing, it is not compatible with this license!
